And not vertically ie “in line”** A: It can be - but we recommend installing vertically as we would with any check valve. Alternatively, you could install at a 45 degree pitch but vertical is still best. **Q: Do you have the 1 inch?** A: 11/2 **Q: What is the maximum recommended distance between the lower discharge pipe and the upper discharge pipe? My old check valve gave out.** A: I imagine you're talking about the pipe coming out of the sump pump( lower) and discharge pipe going to outside (upper?). I do not know what the specific requirements are but I installed mine approximately 30 inches from the sump pump on the discharge pipe. **Q: Can i use this on my koi pond?
