Use your thumbs or hands to push the ends all the way down and towards the sides. They will snap into place and stay. To fold it back up, push in the ends from outside the box until it is level with the top. Then wiggle the sides back and forth just a little until they give way. It will then drop into place. This only takes about 3 seconds to do! **Q: What is the maximum weight capacity of the crate?** A: 30 KG or 66 lbs. **Q: Can this basket hold up to 25 pounds?** A: Yes, also significantly more. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Has been a life-saver for moving *by on Reviewed in the United States October 15, 2023* I recently acquired the CLAX® crate, and I must say it has been a game-changer for my organizational needs. Here's why I'm giving it a positive review:Innovative Folding Design: The CLAX crate's folding mechanism is incredibly innovative. It's easy to collapse for compact storage when not in use, and just as simple to expand when I need it. This feature alone makes it exceptionally versatile.Sturdy and Durable: Despite its collapsible nature, this crate is surprisingly sturdy and well-built. It can withstand heavy loads, making it perfect for a variety of items, from groceries to tools.Functional Versatility: I've found it to be incredibly versatile, serving as both a storage crate and a convenient shopping basket when I go to the market. It's a multifunctional tool that adapts to my needs.Easy to Clean: Cleaning is a breeze. The crate is easy to wipe down or rinse off, which is a big plus for maintaining cleanliness. In summary, the CLAX® crate is a fantastic addition to my daily life. It's innovative, sturdy, versatile, easy to clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Whether I'm using it for storage, shopping, or transport, it has proven to be a valuable tool. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional crate that's both practical and elegant. It's undoubtedly a 5-star product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great folding box. Made in Germany, and it's built to last! *by on Reviewed in the United States July 30, 2026* If you ordered the Clax collapsible cart and needs an additional folding crate, or if you just want a high quality folding box, this one's it! I ordered the Clax cart and very happy with it, and I wanted another crate to go to the lower compartment so the groceries I put there won't fall off the wagon. ;) The fact that it folds down to taking less space when storing it makes this item win versus other plastic crates, and it's quality doesn't fall behind either - it's made in Germany, and it's built to last. To justify its high quality, it was shipped in a cardboard box without any cushions inside which got broken on the way and came almost opened to my doorstep, and I saw the delivery guy in my door camera drops it hard on the hard floor. Nevertheless, nothing bad happened to it and it came in one piece. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Clax Crate is a superior Crate! *by on Reviewed in the United States April 28, 2026* I am very pleased with the Clax Crate. It is the exact size I need, and it is VERY sturdy and good looking (for a crate). It is engraved on the bottom "made in Germany." It does not come with a product box or protective covering or instructions; it comes by itself in the Amazon shipping box, for conservation. Also, I use a Velcro all-purpose elastic strap to hold it together when I'm storing the crate, since it does not lock into place when it is folded down. Excellent crate and well worth the money. ## Frequently Bought Together - Clax® crate | folding box | basket | 48 qt (12 gal) | grey - CLAX® The Original | Made in Germany | Multi use Functional Collapsible carts | Mobile Folding Trolley | Shopping cart with Storage Crate | Platform Truck (Green) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ro/products/378007714-clax-crate-folding-box-basket-48-qt-12-gal-grey](https://www.desertcart.ro/products/378007714-clax-crate-folding-box-basket-48-qt-12-gal-grey) --- *Product available on Desertcart Romania* *Store origin: RO* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
