I help my infirm hubby up from a lying position and from a seated position much more simply with this device. We both grip it better, the added distance allows us each to have better leverage. We were both surprised at how much less effort it takes as well. I also like that I can put his rollator (walker with wheels) between us so that as soon as he's standing he can, one hand at a time, transfer to it. Without this, I struggled to get out of the way, twisting my back and losing my own balance. Now if I ask, "Need help getting up?" he quickly says "Yes" because he knows it will work without anyone getting winded or hurt. So glad to have this handy!

I don't usually pull her to standing (too hard on my back) but it's an excellent help to get her on her knees to grab something sturdy to get her to a standing position. This has cut down on the number of times we've had to call the ambulance for them to help her. The grip is thick enough for us to wrap our fingers around but not too thick. Mom and I do have small hands but I imagine the way it's constructed would even due well for someone with larger hands (just my opinion). Some said it wouldn't help to get someone off of the floor. I used to have a hard and painful time trying to get her even to her knees and this has elevated that so much. Not entirely easy on my back as I'm 5'4 and 135 pounds but what a difference! I highly recommend this!
