A highly durable, solvent-based, clear oil for wooden worktops, tables, chopping boards, butcher blocks and more Helps to prevent marks from liquid spills and hot cups, plates and bowls Dries to a scratch and scuff resistant clear matt finish. Does not flake or blister Particularly well suited to high humidity environments Food & Pet Safe Scratch & Scuff Resistant Stain Resistant Staining Prior to Oiling If desired, softwood and hardwood worktops can be stained prior to oiling with Manns Classic Pine Stain (water-based), Manns Classic Oak Stain (water-based) or Manns Trade Light Fast Wood Stain (solvent-based) wood stains, available in a range of attractive colours. Please note: The use of water-based stains is not recommended in high moisture or humidity environments such as kitchens and bathrooms. APPLICATION Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Existing coatings such as wax or varnish must be removed by sanding. Previously oiled surfaces can be lightly sanded or cleaned with a cloth dampened with white spirit. Final sand should be no finer than P120 to P150 grit to allow oil penetration. Stir the worktop oil thoroughly before and periodically during use. For best results, apply the top oil with a good quality natural bristle brush, microfibre or other lint-free cloth Apply thinly, working in the direction of the wood grain, coating one manageable area at a time Wipe off any excess oil with an uncoloured (white), lint-free or microfibre cloth Denib or lightly sand between coats to aid adhesion Take care to remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner or soft lint-free cloth Normal application is 2 thin coats but 3 may be required if the wood is particularly dry Allow 4 hours drying between coats CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Cleaning Manns Premier Anti-Bac Cleaner Spray is a bleach free, lightly scented, ready-to-use spray cleaner that kills bacteria, fungi and viruses.
