You might get a better sharpener to put a razors edge on it. But as is it'll never get dull enough you cut yourself forcing it through a tough bit of meat. I like to carry a knife for utility purposes and have a fair amount of fancy tacticool knives and gentlemen's knives of various sorts. But if I HAD to carry this as my EDC, I could glue a strap to the sheath and wouldn't feel deprived at all. Especially at this price.

This is a handy, no nonsense, well balanced paring knife. It comes sharp and the sheath mounted sharpener keeps it that way. You might get a better sharpener to put a razors edge on it. But as is it'll never get dull enough you cut yourself forcing it through a tough bit of meat. I like to carry a knife for utility purposes and have a fair amount of fancy tacticool knives and gentlemen's knives of various sorts. But if I HAD to carry this as my EDC, I could glue a strap to the sheath and wouldn't feel deprived at all. Especially at this price.

This knife is made well, is sturdy & works well. The sharpener is a creative idea & works good. It’s not a high level type sharpener so you can’t depend on that part to maintain its sharpness. The knife itself can be sharp but dulls quickly, after one meal prep, used mostly for vegetables, you notice the difference.
