I cut one of these in half and it makes a great place to put these when they are not in use. Easy to move the tray around on my desk and better for me than any other option I saw for keeping these handy and putting them in sleep mode. Notes: I put some black foam between the magnets and used electrical tape to keep them upright so that it easy to place them in the "tray." Trimming the areas where the cuts were made to separate the "lid" from the "tray" was easy and this looks as if this was something that was intended for this use from the manufacturer. The led to, also carefully trimmed, making the "lid" a good gift for a friend who does beading. By the way, the case is also super for its intended purpose (I bought two of these). I threw the very well made, and poorly designed (for my needs anyway) Apple Smart Case in the trash. Review: Excellent case - There are times I haven’t taken my AirPods because of not wanting to jam them in to my rucksack. Other cases don’t put them into low power mode or don’t have the space for the Apple case. This does both.
