They are water proof with, hit plenty and deep puddles and mud to prove it. A lot of tread so you aren't slipping around on dirt and mud as much. Day two consisted of medium to heavy downpour all day and I was forced to ride in it. These boots never leaked. They are also very comfortable considering their size. The buckles are high quality and work well; however, you will def have to make sure your rain pants/suit is completely unzipped at the bottom. These boots are large on the outside and the buckles tend to catch the bottom of the legs when pulling the suit on. The major negative remark I have is that the toe of the boots is very large and rounded. It took some practice to be able to toe my bike shifter up when changing gears, but that's partly due to the fact that my shift lever is on the small side. A little practice made it easier. Pros: waterproof, comfortable and durable. Cons: pricey and boot toe area is large for a bike shifter lever.
