Salome: A Modern Retelling

I found the story different from the usual romance stories and enjoyed reading it. The narrative was well paced and kept me engaged. The characters were not usual hero and heroine of regular romance novels and I would say this is not a book for the regular romance lovers.The book was a creative and courageous effort. However, there are several typo/ grammatical errors and could have benefited with better editing. Also, while trying to adapt the old story to contemporary times, some of the situations become unrealistic and lack credibility.I am a Hindu by faith and therefore not familiar with Biblical stories. But I believe murder, betrayal, adultery, and crime exists across religions and culture and has done so through all ages.After reading the book I made the effort to read the original biblical story.I would give it three and a half stars.

This Salome is not what you are used to and it's a great thing! Salome is off to college but when she comes home she finds her mother in a mess so she helps her out. Herod, her mom's husband wants her to dance for him for a week and promises her anything she wants. Will she bring down the cocaine business fall? Hell is about to break loose and you don't want to miss it. JB Trepagnier has taken this to a whole new level of awesomeness

Written in the 3rd person so you get the story from all sides, this modern retelling of Salome was very well thought out and unique. I really liked the idea of Herod as a drug lord and the role he plays in Salome's life. I'm not a fan of spoilers, so I can't say too much, but the story is well told and very entertaining. There's something for everyone. Gangsters, drugs, horrible mothers, and of course an unlikely, unconventional romance.

JB Trepagnier continues to out do her self in her work with yet another retelling salome is a verry different yet good take on this old story bringing it into modern times and i got drew in and wasnt let go till i finished and absolutely loved this book :)

This writing was choppy and didn’t flow together at all, anywhere. I felt like I was reading a jr high essay. Sadly, the story could’ve been decent and it was a good idea, but you can’t get passed the writing. Believe me I tried and tried, no can do.
