Review: Be cautious - Mine was a little bit too long , so I cut it but didn’t wear a mask . BIG MISTAKE ,especially if you have asthma!!! Caused irritation of my lungs for 4 days! Magnesium is a bad thing to get into your lungs. The rod fit fine in my rheem 40 gal. after cutting.
Review: These are good investments for your water tank - These are good investments for your water tank. I've replaced 6 of them. Some are totally dissolved, some fell asleep. Hopefully, they will extend the life of my water tank. The only thing I've noticed is that if the Anode Rods are in the tank for a while, it is a Bear to get it out. There are a few that I have to use heat and impact wrench for an extended period of time to knock it loose. It is just as much work to replace the water tank as the Anode Rods. However, these are much cheaper. If the overhead space in the basement is limited, you can cut a piece off the bottom to insert it into the water tank. There are also others that have 3 links for limited overhead space.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Be cautious

These are good investments for your water tank. I've replaced 6 of them. Some are totally dissolved, some fell asleep. Hopefully, they will extend the life of my water tank. The only thing I've noticed is that if the Anode Rods are in the tank for a while, it is a Bear to get it out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Value (except for the stickers)!

This is the second time I have replaced the anode rod in the 18 year life of our tank, so far. Given the condition of the old rod each time, I will most likely be replacing them every 5 years now - $20 every 5 years vs. a new hot water tank being installed every 12-15 years (if you’re lucky). That being said, this product lost one star in my review because of those darned stickers that are put directly onto the anode rod - I couldn’t even believe that they did that! After reading the other reviews, someone mentioned maybe the company could put the anode rod in a plastic bag and put the stickers on it or maybe even zip tie the sticker labels to the anode rod. There’s got to be a better way because it is a pain in the butt to get those stickers and a sticker glue off of the anode rod. Actually though, I took the advice of one of the previous reviews and soaked the rod in hot water for a few minutes, peeled the stickers off (which still left the glue), gently scraped of as much of the glue/sticker and then just used an SOS pad lightly to get the rest of the glue off under running hot water. I then washed the rod off with dish soap and hot water and then rinsed it with hot water...that seemed to do the trick.
