It’s essentially black, but with a fancier name. It looks like nothing more than a thin strip of leather folded over itself and stitched together. I put my cards in and was surprised at how well they stayed in place. A lot of card holders either held a few cards at the cost of being four times as thick or required at least 5 cards not to bend or drop them. This is not RFID blocking, which ended up being perfect to tap the whole thing with the single credit card I added. The leather is real and it’s thick enough to do the job without feeling the least bit bulky. I can’t say how it would do with a large number of cards, but for someone with only a few that wants a sleeve for them, it’s absolutely perfect. I also have a few membership cards I have to put in my car for emergencies and I liked this case so much that I ordered the brown version for them. This may be the best wallet I’ve ever owned.
