I have had my first one quite some time. I try to felt lights on one side and darks on the other. If it qets fuzzy/dirty, I scratch it pretty aggressively with my fingernails and remove the piled up fuzz. You will lift a small amount of the pads fibers with it but that's normal. I would not use a carder or anything similar...these are too aggressive and will loosen the wet felted surface of your pad making it collect your fibers even faster. You can also cover with a piece of commercial felt ( acrylic blend) cut to the size of your pad. This will collect most of the fiibers and can be removed when dirty. Hope this helps. **Q: Why can't you pick your color?** A: We only offer the green color right now. Once I make more color of the Felting mat and new UPC. I will list here.
