## Description

Product Description The Tiffen 82mm Circular Polarizer Filter is an essential tool that will help you reduce or eliminate unwated glare and reflections on your images and video. It will help increase contrast and bring out color to life which would otherwise get washed out by overexposure. This filter comes with a rotating adjustable ring that will help you find the right setting to enhance your project on-the-go. desertcart.com A circular polarizer has the same effect as a polarizer and is used on cameras with beam-splitting metering systems commonly found on autofocus SLRs.

Review: Good quality for the price - You could pay a lot more for a different brand and probably not even tell the difference. This filter works great and I've had no issues with quality nor problems with cross-threading onto the lenses.
Review: Does exactly what I expected! - I have had many polarizers over the years. I have used filters such as this for over 25 years. I like the Tiffen as it is not too dark for most uses. I keep it on for almost every shot (unless it is night time or quite dark) to protect my lenses and for it's mild polarizing effect. (I take 1000s of images on a shoot, mostly landscape) Some other brands are too dark to do this. The dark ones many times look too polarized, and post processing has to take much of this out anyway. I do have a few of these and use them occasionally. I have found that an image that is properly balanced that does not need too much darkening or lightening post processing is much better, I have a Hoya but it is always falling apart (and way too dark). I have Heliopan 77mm Circular Polarizer Lens Filters and like the quality, but again they are too dark to keep on all the time. The Heliopan is the one I keep for special uses when I want more polarizing effects than I get with the Tiffen. The Tiffen polarizers I have had only were replaced when they became too scratched for use, broken from being dropped or run into things, or lost over board in my boat. As I said a couple of Hoya ones were replaced because they fell apart. I use a Canon 5D with all high end L series lenses (most costing well over $1000.00) and have sold over 1300 framed GiClees ($300-$800 each). I feel that this filter does not compromise the quality of my images. So in review. I don't want an unnatural appearance due to my filters. I do want the pleasing effects I can achieve with the Tiffen filter. I have never had a problem with any I had purchased, so recommend them to others. And I will continue to use them myself. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: will it work with the 18-55mm lens?**
A: You have to know what the physical diameter of your lens is. You only stated focal length and there are a multitude of 18-55mm lenses of various diameters. Look at the writing at the end of the lens and you will see a symbol that looks like a circle with a horizontal line through it. That is the physical lens diameter. The number after it states the size for filters to properly fit it.

**Q: how many stops of light does this reduce by? thank you**
A: Probably 1.3-2.0, check your settings in your camera, take a shot, to see what setting (Fstop ) works for you. Remember, different situations require different settings, use your light meter, small, if you have one.

**Q: Will this fit the canon M100 ? Or does anyone know which one will ?**
A: Assuming you have the stock lens, it looks like you need a 49mm polizer. This 52mm will not fit.

**Q: Is it reduced F stop ? And how many F stop?**
A: It does reduce the light, but I'm not sure how many f stops, probably 1 and not more than 2.
