He had a similar case on his old iPad and wanted the handle and built-in stand again. We wanted the padded foam protection to protect it from dings and scratches, so we went with this one. The case is soft but sturdy and it even comes with a screen protector! The foldable "legs" are rigid and work well, but we've advised him to be gentle with them (to keep them from folding in or breaking prematurely). We had a little trouble installing the screen protector, but overall, everything works as it should and it's nice to have the added protection from screen scratches.
