I spent a bunch of time looking into a leather desk pad that would be easier to keep clean, but many of them had negative reviews that they scratched really easily, or that a mouse didn't track very well on them. I'm a pretty avid PC gamer, so having a mouse pad that would stand up to regular mouse usage was an important feature for me. I was very pleased with this desk pad after it arrived. It unrolled smoothly and lays nice and flat, stays in place well, and looks very fancy on my desk. It's quite soft and smooth to the touch - my mouse has no problems gliding over this mat, and I've detected no issues with mouse tracking whatsoever. I will say that there is slightly more friction when moving the mouse around when compared to a typical microfiber gaming mouse pad.
