My only issue is the positioning of the power cable out of the side of the unit. If I had to install this in any other position within my rack, I wouldn't be able to, since there is a plastic part blocking the area inside of my rack. It works perfectly well for my needs, and everything is up front and accessible which is exactly what I wanted for my application. The rack ears are not removable. If you don't have a network or A/V rack with 19" spacing, maybe pick a different power strip. All of the outlets are on the front of the device. If you want stealthy / hidden outlets, pick a different device.
