Great find!
This was my husband's favorite of all the (many) shorts we tried for our son's new uniform as he enters Kindergarten.Size: These fit him great in the waist and butt. They pull up and down easily. He has some junk in the trunk, so we often have to size up. Not the case with these, we ordered a 6 and they fit great in the waist/hips/butt. They fit just above the knee, so he will outgrow the length soon. I ordered the 7 just last week, and the fit is perfect and will definitely take up into fall. (We live in the south, so October may still be shorts weather!) The 7s aren't too big in the waist, but give me that extra little length. (The photo is him in a size 6). Based on the fit for my child, I don't think these would work for super-skinny kids.Color: These are a little darker than I would like. We tried probably 7 or 8 different brands and these were by far the darkest navy, sometimes appearing black. They'll work for our school and maybe fade with more washing.Feel/Look: These feel comfy and not too rigid. They look exactly like standard, button/zipper shorts, so we'll be buying them again! For sizing reference: we also tried the French Toast brand, and they were much too long/thin for our tastes. The 6 was too narrow for his hiney, but the 7 was soooo long - almost capri length. We also really liked the Unik brand, which are probably 2 inches longer.

Great for Special Needs Kids
These shorts are a lifesaver. I have a son with autism who regularly needs clothing without buttons, snaps, and zippers. Athletic shorts are great, but sometimes you need something nicer. These shorts are PERFECT! The availability of sizes, the resistance to wrinkling and shrinking, and the durability is amazing. The fit is perfect, and having an elastic waist means he can wear something that looks nice but offers a level of independence as well. All of this for a low price.I would suggest that this company advertise to families with children with special needs. Many companies do not offer the elastic waist beyond a certain size. I will be ordering all of his walking shorts as well as pants from here as long as they are offered in his size.

Elastic waist for potty! DURABLE! Great finish!
The media could not be loaded. Really loving these! Bought them two months ago and I usually wait to make sure the product is durable before leaving a review.Still looks brand new, material fresh out the dryer doesn’t need ironing and most importantly NO BUTTONS OR ZIPS!! My son can go potty with ease! Buy!

great for dyspraxic
My son has dyspraxia and buttoning buttons and zipping zippers is a problem. He goes to a uniform school and even if he didn't, the problem of what pants to wear to school would still be a problem. Getting pull up pants for boys over 7 is really difficult. Especially when you looking for something in husky. These shorts fit wonderfully, my son loves how they feel and he looks clean and polished at school and we don't have to worry about him fussing with buttons and zippers he has trouble with. We are so happy with the product that after a trial run of a couple of pairs of shorts, we went and bought more and switch out his wardrobe. He is now wearing these shorts and pants exclusively.

Very Boxy
****Update!!! We bought these when our little guy was three and starting preschool. He is now starting kindergarten and still wearing these shorts. They held up so well that they still look new. I updated the review from 3 stars to 5 because of how well they held up. They are boxy but now that our guy is 5, they don’t look like a skirt. Our little 3 year old needed elastic waist uniform shorts for preschool. These will serve for a long time, I guess. They are so big on his little frame that he looks like he’s wearing a skirt. It wouldn’t hurt them to have the leg tapered down a little. We’ll see how well they wash and wear.
