**Q: I connected everything and it doesn't work. it does not produce any steam. why? is it the mineral content of the water, needing some salt? how much?**

Please make sure the float is installed correctly and is moving freely to allow water to get into the base of the unit. Additionally, we would advise starting by turning the unit to the highest setting for at least an hour or until the humidity in the air feels comfortable, then turning down the knob until you hear a click. That is because this unit has a relative humidistat.
