No higher in price than a lower end quality caulk from national DIY/trade counters. It's a nice bright shade and very easily applied. The texture on application is faultless, very smooth and remains malleable for cosmetic touch ups for a fair while after application. That said the product is pretty much set within an hour so fast curing times on projects where time is important. For best application I would recommend cutting the nozzle at about a 45 degree angle and cut to a thickness consistent with the area of coverage. I dare say less is more as there can be a lot of wastage when smoothing. Once applied to your area, mix some water and washing up liquid in a spray bottle. Then spray the affected area and gently rub off the excess and smooth into the final position. The spray will stop the excess going all over the work surfaces. For best result I'd suggest a mastic forming tool but failing that a clean finger is fine. Having worked in the construction industry my working career, I'm pleasantly surprised with this and happy to recommend. I've tried cutting, piercing, everything... Can't get it open!!** A: People could be a little less patronising, some of us don't have an much knowledge of /have never before used hardware tools and products as others :) **Q: If need be, can it be sanded?** A: It doesn't really need to be sanded as it has quite a smooth finish. Just squeeze it into the gap and with a slightly damp fingertip, smooth it out. I always have a damp cloth to just wipe off any excess that goes somewhere I don't want so I don't run into the problem of needing to try and sand it. If you have gaps between the skirting board and wall (like some of mine have), it's great for filling these in, but I always make sure after I have run my finger over it to wipe off any excess that may go up the wall a bit so it doesn't leave any sort of ridge. As it has some flexibilty I find that if you try to sand it, it tends to ball up a bit. Hope this is of some help.
