## Description

From 13th February New 3DS White Console

Review: A well made, well designed console with a great screen and 3D that just works – worth upgrading if you play a lot of 3DS games. - I upgraded from a 3DS XL and I'm very pleased with the result – a few things worth mentioning based on the reviews I've read online. Firstly the lack of charger – it's not ideal, but the charger comes separately in other countries as well, it looks like Nintendo want to standardise their packaging across countries; I think the bigger mistake is desertcart's copywriting team not putting "Charger sold separately" in bold text as one of the key sales facts listed at the top of the page and making it an easy bundle choice. Transferring data from an old device – this was a lot easier than many review sites claimed and the manuals supplied are very clear on the process; the key annoyance cited in many reviews is the need to unscrew the rear casing of the device to access the SD card. I personally think that's a positive – it means both the battery and your data card are safely shielded from accidentally coming loose. I'm an adult, but I can absolutely understand that Nintendo would want it to be a deliberate act to remove the cover rather than have accusations that young children have easy access to what is a fairly dangerous (when mishandled) lithium ion battery. Having done it, it's really easy, the screws are not long and are retained by the rear cover plate – replacement plates come with their own set of screws. Given the design goals of simplicity, safety and allowing for customisation, I think Nintendo got this right. The new stable 3D – it really works well even in low light, it's not foolproof but you have to be shaking the device around like a lunatic to get it to lose focus – so for the first time I can play action games like Mario Kart and Starfox that can make the console wobble around as you play and still enjoy the 3D effect. The screen size – I've sized-down from an XL and I really think the new device nails the right size for mobile gaming; I'd urge you to try both if you're doubtful but I find the smaller denser pixel display easier to look at for longer periods than the XL, it's a trick of the optics but going back to some older games, they do seem sharper and more detailed: Luigi's Mansion 2 looks fantastic. It also feels very well made, in a way the old XL didn't, good though it was. I wouldn't want to mistreat it but it feels the way a Nintendo should: functional, solid and utilitarian like the Gamecube and DS Lite were. I feel like I can throw it in a bag without worrying it's going to stop working – It's not trying to be trendy or fashionable, it's just trying to be a good portable games console. It is.
Review: Complete waste of money. - Dead pixels and cracked and dirty corners. What a waste of £264.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this come with an ac adapter**
A: No but you can use your Venom Universal 3DS Power Supply if you have one. It charges all the DS's including the new 3DS XL. It tells you on the box but if you don't have one it's worth ordering this charger. I have one and it's great no messing around looking for chargers it comes in a split so you can charge your DSI and your 3DS at the same time. Hope I've helped.

**Q: Does it come with a memory card?**
A: Yes, it comes with a 4gb micro SD memory card pre-installed in the slot; it will "officially" accept a card of up to 32gb, which is what I have replaced it with. If you don't plan to buy any digitally downloaded games, 4gb is probably ok to start with, but some digital games can be large - for instance the new Xenoblade game due in April is 3.6gb by itself. You can always upgrade to a larger card later by copying the contents of the currently used card to a PC and then transferring those files to a new larger card and then inserting the new card into the 3DS.

**Q: Is there many games out for 'new nintendo 3ds'?**
A: The new nintendo 3ds can play all 3ds and ds games. There is currently only one game that can only be played on new 3ds and not on a 3ds (xenoblade chronicles)There are several games that take advantage of the extra buttons and control nub of the new 3ds (e.g monster hunter 4, zelda majoras mask), but these games can all still be played on a 3ds

**Q: I know this doesn't come with an AC charging lead, but does it come with a USB cable (that I could then plug into an appropriate AC adapter)?**
A: No it doesn't come with usb cable, I was surprised too but does work with the old Nintendo charger

### ⭐ Complete waste of money.

Dead pixels and cracked and dirty corners. What a waste of £264.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good!
*by P***N on 7 June 2016*

I got the White version of the New 3DS, and checked out all of the apps. The box came with the console, the stylus, some AR cards and a operations manual. Unfortunately, it didn't come with a charger, so I had to wait a extra day to play with the 3DS. Also, when I opened the 3DS, I noticed the console wasn't fully charged so I didn't have a lot of time to play around with it. However, I really liked the ability to go on a browser. I also liked that you could make your own Mii's, play Face Raiders (a game that I find very funny and amusing) and have a welcome or very short demo of "Tomodachi Life" which is a game I'm looking forward to getting soon. Power saving mode is very useful, especially when you're in a place that doesn't have wifi or Internet. I don't like the fact that you have to have a certain amount of power to go on the browser, but I guess that's the situation with most devices. I really like the New 3DS (a really crazy name for a epic product.) I would intend to bring it to any journey I go to. Therefore I give this product four stars: Very Good, but I think it could be a tinsy bit better when you first get it.
