## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this a substitute for olives or ptfe tape or should it be used with one of these?**
A: I am not a plumber. I was advised to get some to use to seal screw threaded components which are not under pressure - so draining water.
I have used some to seal an outflow from a urinal. It sort of works, but not particularly well. Apparently, you need to line the thread on the male part with "string" before applying Boss White. I didn't but it still worked. But the liquid passing the joint is not under pressure. So, to answer your question, it is not a substitute for an olive or ptfe.

**Q: Can this be used on gas joints**
A: I believe so but please check with a Gas Plumber/Engineer. A lot of safety involved in gas work.

**Q: Is this for sealing under/around the round metal piece that you place in the hole in a sink that ultimately you put the plug in?**
A: If it's the threaded part yes but you need some hemp to wrap round the thread before you put the nut on

**Q: Can I use for sealing my pop up waste**
A: Plumbers mate for basin side as a seal  PTFE on threads on plastic side would be my choice but it’s your decision and types of fitting used
If not sure ask a tradesman
