Fun for Fans of Emily in Paris Show
If you like Emily in Paris and you like Paris and want to know more, this is a fun book. While it is narrated in Emily's voice, and it includes fictional people and places from the show, it also includes lots of real information about shopping, eating, and sightseeing in Paris. There are photos from the show and of places in Paris. I disagree with almost everything in the original October 2022 review, and I wonder if that reader even bought the book. It is not intended as a tour book, but for show fans there are plenty of recommendations.

Inside view of Emily in Paris series!
Like reading backstage gossip, scripts, seeing costumes from the drawing board to fruition. Easy reading and interesting background to the TV series.

RINGARDE!
As a fan of Netflix’s “Emily in Paris”, I was excited to get this official guidebook to all things Emily. What I expected were lots of photos of the characters, a look at the clothes on the show, gorgeous images of Paris, a nice summary of characters, and a guide to the city locations featured in the hit show. This book didn’t contain much if any of these things. This guide is told in Emily’s voice but can’t decide if this is a quirky Emily’s guide to Paris, show summary, or what. The photos from the show aren’t great. The book layout tries to copy the look of a whimsical 1950’s fashion guide with lots of fashion drawings, in black white ink wash illustrations accented by pink and red flourishes. The stills from the show are often laid out on a pink or red background with French saying. The book actually actually repeats a few pages- there is same page with photo of Gabriel used twice- sloppy. There aren’t many photos at all from the show and what text there is isn’t very interesting. The book is divided into sections like “fashion” “food” etc but doesn’t present anything of interest. As a fictional account of the city it’s full and because it’s fictional it’s not a useful guide for anything. I am sure there will be one or two people who think Pierre Cadault has a a flagship store in Paris the way this book the fictional character’s store beside the very real Chanel.A big missed opportunity and definite do not recommend.
