He did need an adults help and one that knew about construction haha! I cleaned off the paint on a can using wire wool before it was opened so it remained rigid. You don't have to do this but I thought it looked better all shiny like on the box. Unfortunately I can't help as this was given as a present, though I don't actually remember seeing anything before I wrapped it that indicated it wasn't in English. Sorry not to be more help. **Q: how long do the batteries last?** A: You have to supply the batteries and we found that the batteries did not last long. This was for a 7 yr old who was fascinated by putting it together (we helped) and playing. Though the battery life was short, the enjoyment of the toy outweighed the disappointment. **Q: Does it have a motor? And if it does how powerful is it?** A: Powerful enough to drive an empty drinks can - presumably painted by you to look like a cable car compartment - to the end and back automatically until you or the child get sick of it. **Q: Same questions - is this in Japanese? Or English?** A: Unsure.
