Three words: BRIL-LI-ENT!
I grew up watching the original Karate Kid movies and they have been a huge part of my upbringing, due to my dad's encouraging me to take lessons from an early age. This film brought back so many fond memories from my karate years and its made me want to take it up again. It is just an incredible underdog story that moves you and makes you believe in the characters. Young Jaden Smith is a star to watch out for in the future and it looks bright for him. Jackie Chan gives the performance of his career and he has always been great to watch over the years. This film will warm your heart, open your mind and make you cheer with weep with happy tears because it is one of the best feel-good movies I have ever seen.

Bargain Bluray
At the current price this Bluray is worth buying. This film is not as good as the original but has some good moments.Jaden Smith suits the role well, like his dad he is a very good actor and has a way of getting the audience "on his side".Unlike Ralph Macchio, Jaden Smith is much smaller then the bullies of the movie and will have you rooting for him the whole way.Jackie Chan does not have his usual flair instead plays a more calm quiet role. Its a nice change to see Jackie in a role like this and he pulls of the role as a teacher well.little gripe, its not Karate. The film is set in China and Dre (Jaden Smith) is taught Kung Fu.The original films were fantastic and having watched them its always in the back of your mind. You will notice the similarities from the other movies. If you have not seen the classics then this is worth buying and at this price is great value. This will definitely appeal to the younger generation, there is not much violence so is a film for the family.

good movie but after earth is not I'm afraid.
Jayden Smith is great in this movie, it's really entertaining. Worth watching. His acting in this movie is very good Like in others he has been in at a young age. Sadly his talents passed away after this and I couldn't bare to watch his later film 'after earth'. It's like his talents have the Benjamin button disorder... when he is young he's a great actor but as he gets older he gets worse where as his father got better over time like most talents. Jayden, you are not your father... stop trying to live up to him.. please. You're ruining his reputation. And stop making songs where you shout "hellooooo" for ages down the Mic.

Karate Kid remake is the bomb...
Ok so I know its a remake and that pretty much means that you know the story already unless you have lived under a rock for the last 20 years. This doesn't detract from the fact that this is an awesome film. Amazing cinematography with a turn on the original story by basing it in Japan, allows for enough difference from the original script to keep you enthralled throughout.I thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Original fans will dig the twists on the theme and new viewers will just think its great. Ten out of Ten from me my luvvies!

God but -----
The 2010 remake of the cult classic "The Karate Kid" see's Jaden Smith moving to China with his mum & virtually as soon as he arrives, he starts to get bullied. His buildings maintenance man, played by Jackie Chan, takes him under his wing & teaches him KarateThe film at times follows the first films script but in my humble opinion, it is not as good. This one will appeal to the younger generation who have never seem the original Karate Kid films as this one is not as dated.
