If you then twist the black, plastic visible end anti - clockwise you can withdraw the refill. (Do not disturb the aluminium tube it is screwed into). You can then fit your new refill (the ones I use are black medium product no. 8513-2 - the last number 2, just denotes there are two in the pack). It's a great pen but a pity Cross don't make the instructions clearer on the refill packs. **Q: Will work with Swarovski pen?** A: You would be better contacting Swarovski to ask this question. However if you remove your refill and measure its length note the shape also and before ordering refills check the length .
