Be sure you purchase ProtectaClear and not the Everbrite for the grill. **Q: Can Everbrite be used on galvanized steel like a automotive gas tank ?** A: Everbrite can be used on galvanized steel to protect the metal from fading and it will also protect from rust and corrosion. Everbrite is clear so the galvanized metal will show through. **Q: Can this be used on rusty metal birdbath?** A: Yes, Everbrite will seal birdbaths to prevent further rust. Do you want to keep and seal the rust or are you looking to remove the rust? Brushes right on with a brush or foam brush, then lays flat and smooth. Dries to a smooth, non-sticky, glossy finish. I'm impressed. I was going to put on like three coats but I ended up only using one coat because it seems to make a nice thick layer. Seems very protective. I look forward to seeing how the bare metal parts that I coated with this hold up over time. So far they are not showing any rust at all.
