A year ago I started using it as a scarf and quite liked it. It is a perfect scarf for use where nights are cool and days are warm (coastal California). My wife liked the look and I decided to purchase some additional colors. I was a little thrown off by the poor reviews of these so I purchased this one and another one from Etsy for more than twice as much. This Shemagh has been washed once and retains it's 43"x43" size (cold water - no dryer), with no fraying or weakness in the cloth. These are supposed to be thin cotton fabric and this one is as good as the more expensive one I purhcased (although a few inches smaller). This is a good piece of gear, that looks and functions well.
