Let there be rock!
I was wary of whether to buy an acoustic DVD of the Foo Fighters in the beginning, there really are few bands that can match the foo's live in the rock form but the acoustic stuff i can take or leave. Up until now that is, the acoustic show is bristling full of beauty and charm with each song treated like a story and a sound that will have the hairs on your neck stand on end. It's also Shot superbly too.Buts it's the rock disc that really takes the entertainment level up a gear, Hyde park and 80,000 fans makes the Foo fighters determined to turn the rock up 11. A huge stage with a runway that sprawls into the crowed,a killer set list, Lemmy, and the real defining moment of a historic day, Roger Taylor and Brian May who join the Foo's in a superb rendition of the queen classic 'Tie your mother down'. By the end you feel as though you've witnessed a band at the top of their game realising what they've achieved. And boy it's fun finding out.An absolute must for any rock fan.

Rock and soul!!
I love this dvd as it reminds me of the In Your Honour double cd the Foos released in 2005 one loud and one not so loud, I remember watching the Hyde Park gig live on TV but would had preferred to be there in person that night but beggars can't be choosers I guess, the acoustic set from Hollywood is amazing too, well worth getting for the price.

Brillaint
I was at the Hyde park show and I was expecting great things from this DVD and believe me it didn't disappoint. The Hyde park DVD is everything you expect from the Foos, all their hits played as loud as possible, as well as possible. The sound does seem to be out with the picture at points but you hardly notice you are too captivated by the performance. The encore is also something special. The Hollywood DVD is also fantastic. It made me smile to see Pat Smear back on stage with Dave and the new, double sized band really worked. It's also good to hear some songs acoustic for a change (eg. My Hero and Big Me). In the encore Dave explains the meaning behind Friend of a Friend (written about Kurt Cobain) and reveals a quite remarkable story. Seriously you have to buy this DVD, it's destined to become a classic.

Foo, no Phew Fighters
Great DVD shot back in 2006, acoustic set on the Skin and Bones disc is probably my favourite Foos live effort, some fantastic musicianship all round, favourite tracks are 'Over and Out', 'My hero' and the innimatable 'Everlong', go out and treat yourself. The Hyde Park live disc was a bonus to me as I bought this on the strength of hearing a couple of the tracks on the Skin and bones c.d. not realising that the Hyde Park gig was included, cracking stuff again including the best tunes they will always be known for, plus an appearance by Brian May and Roger Taylor when the Foos delve into 'Tie your mother down', Taylor Hawkins covers the vocals on that track, plus the god of Heavy Metal, Lemmy, guests on 'Shake your Blood',again go out and treat yourself..... \m/

Brilliant
I love this DVD. But why wouldn't I? I was there in Hyde Park when they recorded it. A fabulous concert. If you like the Foos, then you'll love this.

One of the best concert movies ever
I love this concert. The best bit is when Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones come on to jam with the band and do some Led Zeppelin numbers. Real magic moments. Sound mix and image quality are first class too!

Skin and Bones
This is a superb DVD of two Foo Fighters concerts. You get the amazing Hyde Park 'rock' concert, as well as the more sedate, but just as good Hollywood 'acoustic' concert. The foos play with equal passion and interact with the audience for both types of gig and it's great to see both sides of their music. You get a great selection of tracks, including the ever popular and anthemic 'My Hero' and 'Everlong'. Overall a great music DVD for fans, showing one of the best and most respected bands in music today. Well worth a look.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.
