## Description

Step into the world of vermiculture with Worm Nerd’s 4-Tray Worm Composting Bin. Composting worms are voracious eaters that consume fruit and vegetable scraps, cardboard, shredded paper, and other organic waste. In vermiculture, these worms are congregated together and fed organic matter that would otherwise be thrown away. This convenient 4-tray bin includes (3) screened trays for worms and compost, (1) elevated base tray for liquid collection, (1) lid, and (1) spigot with a rubber seal. Lightweight and portable, it’s easy to relocate as needed and compact enough to keep on countertops or other small spaces. Available in 3 attractive colors: classic black, slate gray, and desert tan.

Review: Great small worm bin - I've had this bin for a few months now, and it's nice, compact, easy to use, and relatively clean. If you're looking to get a load of worm compost within even two months, you might need to lower your expectations. It really is small. But it's a fun way to make compost indoors, especially when the weather starts to get cold. And I have two young boys, who find it hilarious and interesting! I started off with some red wrigglers bought at my local pet store, which probably only had around 25 worms (hence, the slowness). I now have no idea how many I have, it's been maybe 5 months, and I just added the second tray on top of the initial one. I still have not harvest the castings below, but I have the luxury of not being in a hurry. There's very little smell, as long as you add shredded paper on top every time you add food, and don't add food too quickly. As long as it's closed, I don't smell anything at all, and I don't get a ton of leftover liquid at the bottom either. Overall, love the product. I may contemplate getting a larger one in future but right now, that's just not feasible, and I'm quite happy with how this has turned out so far.
Review: This product is perfect for any home gardener! 🪱 - I recently purchased a Worm Nerd vermicomposting bin and have been immensely pleased with it as an addition to my greenhouse and garden. I'll start by saying the bin is incredibly well-made, easy to assemble, and keeps my worms very happy. It comes with 2 more stackable trays that hold a heaping amount of castings. Pretty nifty built-in aeration system beneath to ensure that the compost never gets overly wet or too dry, the drain holes make it easy to manage excess moisture, plus you have a tap and can collect the worm juice to feed houseplants or veggies. The plastic is also TOUGH, durable enough to keep out any pests or critters, which I have had issues with in other bins. Overall, this is an excellent product and has made vermicomposting a breeze, even my girlfriends 10 year old soon loves to help tend to the worms. Highly recommend! 🪱

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What else do you need with this besides worms?**
A: The only thing I had to add was some newspaper or shredded material. I have had no problem since setting this up. Worms seem happy and I have not seen any worms trying to escape. :)

**Q: What are the measurements of each screen tray?**
A: Hi! The screened trays are each 10" x 9" x 4.7" tall.

**Q: Is this big enough for 1000 worms?**
A: Hi Crystal - we recommend about 250 worms for the "Mya" bin and about 500 for the "Jaylen" bin. Hope that helps!

**Q: Did anyone get instructions or have any directions? Thanks.**
A: One page.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Way Over Priced for its Size
*by L***E on October 26, 2025*

Easy to assemble and instructions are good. The photo showing the thing assembled has the wire base upside down. LOL But, for a novice this would be a good way to start and determine if this is something you want to do. Totally my fault for not paying attention to the photo showing the dimensions! For a few dollars more I could have gotten one twice this size. The legs/base is too short to get a container under it to drain the liquid from the faucet unless you place it so that the faucet is out over the edge of a table or a taller base. The very short legs also make it more difficult to place each leg in a container of water and mineral oil to keep the ants out. (I had to use jar lids.) I'm in Florida so ants are always a problem, especially since I won't use anything toxic for pest control. (Terro Ant Control works in almost all situations.) I expect to move about 20% of my worms to this and likely keep it in the guest bathroom that gets very little use. It's small enough and lightweight enough that it should do well and be easy to keep. I'll keep shopping for a larger one to replace the old one I have on my screened porch.
