The shifter cable is on the driver's side, and has smaller room to work with. When I finally got it on, the back of the bushing was only halfway through. If I had to do it again, I would put the bushing on the pin, and push the plastic hole onto the pin. The bushing wouldn't be able to move or fall, and I think it would pop through more easily. I took the middle panel cover of my car off but I didn’t have to take out the sides because my hands fit. I inserted the plastic piece in sideways and just wiggled it into place. I then reinserted back the arm into place and I used the tip of some scissors slightly open to push the metal piece into place. I am sure needlenose pliers would’ve been better to use but scissors is what I had on hand. I put the center cover back and tested it right away.
