Minwax is the better product. It penetrates deeper and strengthen the wood. I wood follow up with an exterior grade wood filler to fill any rotted out voids then carry on with your fasteners. **Q: how is it applied?** A: I am a fan. However there is no way it can be sprayed on. it's very thick and i can't comprehend it being in a spray bottle. Think honey or syrup. As a handyman profesional I love this. I just did 3 days doing roof trim repair that had rot and carpenter ant damage. The fibers are loose like straw. this firmed them up enough for me to put in wood epoxy. **Q: Chemically, what is this stuff?** A: http://www.jb-weld.co.uk/images/technical-data-sheets/J-B-Weld-MSDS-Wood-Restore-Epoxy1.pdf **Q: Can this be used outdoors?** A: yes it can. I used it on exterior window trim. ## Frequently Bought Together - J-B Weld 40001 Wood Restore Liquid Hardener - 16 oz., Original Version - Gorilla All Purpose Wood Filler, Natural Finish, 16 Ounce Tub (Pack of 1) - Water Resistant for Indoor or Outdoor Projects and Repairs - J-B Weld 40006 Wood Restore Premium Epoxy Putty Kit - 32 oz. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ro/products/5489514-40001-wood-restore-liquid-hardener-16-oz-original-version](https://www.desertcart.ro/products/5489514-40001-wood-restore-liquid-hardener-16-oz-original-version) --- *Product available on Desertcart Romania* *Store origin: RO* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
