I do everything by the book, but it is recommended to test both the coolant and brake fluid. I have a 3 year old Corolla and a 2 year old Crown. Both of them came out with high scores so fluid replacement is not necessary. The dealer told me I should replace both fluids in the Corolla. Even though it was expensive to get these, I think they will save me money in the long run. I figure I will have a lifetime supply provided they don't go bad with time.
