## Description

.com The WSS0S-P0W wireless self-powered remote switch can control an unlimited number of LevNet RF receivers that are in range, all without using batteries or wires – resulting in no power consumption or energy used. The power for the wireless signal is provided by the energy of the user pressing the switch. The self-powered remote switch is primarily used to control lights in businesses or homes, but can be used to control virtually anything with an on/off switch. Wireless Self-PoweredRemote SwitchAt A Glance:Powered entirely by motion of user pressing switch - no energy consumptionQuick installation (no additional wiring required)Can be used to control lights, motors, and other electrical loadsUsers can use multiple switches to create multi-location switchesBacked by five-year limited warranty Leviton's wireless self-powered remote switch allows users to set up a control for lights or other electrical loads without additional wiring (click to enlarge). Automatic Lighting Control for Energy SavingsEach wireless self-powered remote switch can be placed anywhere within range of a receiver. Traditionally, the remote switch is surface-mounted on a wall with screws or industrial tape, but it can also be placed in a standard switch box. Each switch has a unique ID to ensure that it only activates the intended receiver(s). With a quick installation (no new wiring required) and the convenience of self-powered wireless technologies, the self-powered remote switch is an ideal solution for retrofits and new construction. Advanced Features for Energy Harvesting Since the remote switch is powered entirely (and immediately) by the motion of the switch being pressed, users can rest assured they are saving power. Additionally, since no additional wires are required, the switches can be relocated with remarkable ease. Users can establish multiple switches to create convenient multi-location (three-way or four-way) switching to control lights, motors, or other electrical loads. Creative users can further save energy, creating manual-on/automatic-off controls by using the wireless remote switch in conjunction with LevNet RF energy-harvesting occupancy sensors or by programming all lights to respond to a single master switch. The FCC-certified wireless self-powered remote switch is backed by a five-year limited warranty. What's in the BoxOne Leviton WSS0S-P0W wireless self-powered remote switch and manual. The compact wireless self-powered remote switch can be mounted on-wall or in a standard box (click to enlarge). From the Manufacturer The Leviton line of wireless wall switch receivers (WSS10-0DX and WSS10-GDX) work in conjunction with the wireless occupancy sensors (WSXX-I0W) and the wireless remote switch (WSS0S-P0X) to provide an optimal solution for retrofit lighting needs. These wireless products combine Leviton's switching technology with self-powered and wireless technologies, developed and licensed from EnOcean. The wall switch receiver can be installed in place of traditional single-pole wall switches and fits in a standard single-gang wall box. No additional wiring is required. These components are compatible with incandescent, fluorescent and low-voltage lighting. The receiver responds to signals from the wireless occupancy sensor, automatically shutting off lights when the room is vacant. Lights are automatically activated upon entry in auto-on mode with the wireless occupancy sensor. The receiver also features a single manual-override switch that can be used to toggle the on/off status of the light load while an area is occupied. The wireless remote switch is self-powered (no batteries required), drawing on kinetic energy to charge itself each time the button is pushed. The remote switch can be used to control lights from multiple locations. It can also be used for a convenient three-way switch solution, eliminating the need to pull additional wiring. Wireless self-powered remote switch, white. Wireless receivers and transmitters sold separately.

    Expensive but works well.

*by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2015*

I got this switch to replace a remote switch that I had installed 12 years ago. The old one was getting flakey.. the lights would come on in the middle of the night. ( I am not sure if the problem was with the electronics or with radio interference.. there is a lot more RF noise now than there was 12 years ago! The old switch was a type that was prone to interference). There are two different "receivers" that work with this.. a "basic" and an "advanced". Leviton does not make it very clear what the differences are. I ended up with the "basic". Some other reviews talked about having to set "toggle" mode. The basic switch does not have that. It actually just works! You still have to "pair" the transmitter and receiver. The instructions are not great, but read them a couple times and follow them EXACTLY and it worked fine. The stuff about setting delay times and manual on-auto off seem to only apply when you use the receiver with an "occupancy sensor". With just the remote switch, this works just like a simple switch.. turn it on when you want, turn it off later. I just wanted a remote, wall mounted switch in a place where it would have been very difficult to run wires, and this does exactly that. The switch housing looks just like the photos. It mounts to the wall with a couple screws. There are other remotes for this system that are hand held (which would instantly get lost in my house!)As others have mentioned, this is a "push it once to turn on, push it again to turn off". Both the remote switch and the receiver switch work that way. Thats not an issue for the way I use it. Yes, you do have to push a bit hard on the remote switch.. keep pushing until it clicks. (that click is how it generates the power to send the signal to the receiver). Once you have done it a couple times, you know what to expect and its just not an issue. The other thing to pay attention to is the receivers come in two types. One type has 3 wires and needs to be connected to a circuit "neutral" line. The hot and neutral mean the unit is powered by the AC line. The other type does not have the neutral wire. Depending on how your house was wired, there may not be a neutral in the wall box, and in that case you need the one without the neutral wire. It gets its power off of the light circuit itself, and it needs a minimum of a 25 Watt load so there is enough current flowing for it to get its power. Thats probably not an issue, but if you only have one CFL or LED light on that circuit, it might not be enough.Anyway, its not cheap, it seems well made, and it does exactly what I want. And, with a few billion digital codes, its not likely to get turned on in the middle of the night by interference!

    Works well

We used this to add a switch to a bedroom. The remote is powered by the movement of the switch itself, so you don't need to worry about replacement batteries. Some may find the programming directions a bit cryptic; you need to "pair" the remote with the receiver when you install it. As others have noted, the included mounting box does not have a back. I was able to securely mount it by putting thin strips of foam wall mounting tape along the edges, but a flat back would've made this easier.I've tried the $20 battery powered remote switches, this is definitely higher quality and more reliable.

WAY overpriced and failed within 3 months. Should have listened to the negative comments on-line. My bad
