Herring roe is very good to eat one of best.(there are rules against against food products cocked or unlocked entering foreign countries)

What is the quantity or weight per pack, and are they smoked?

Quantity per pack is 400g. I am not sure whether they have been smoked or treated with a preservative but their taste and smell are revolting.If you are looking for fresh roe I strongly recommend that you avoid them.

Large, Fresh, Quality Roes

Lovely large, meaty roes. Very fresh. Herring roes/milts aren't easy to find these days with the demise of high street fishmongers, so very happy to find these available online. Delicious lightly dusted in seasoned flour and then fried for a couple of minutes and served on buttered toast. These are delivered fresh and chilled, so ideal to buy a few packs and freeze in portions. Regular buyer and can highly recommend.

Divine

This herring roe is absolutely divine, fried in a pan on medium heat with butter, black pepper and a dollop of Colman's Mustard, and then served on toast. The roe is very fresh and can be divided into two very good-sized portions. Yum.

Excellent roe, arrived on 24hour delivery and was expertly packed and very fresh. Portion perfect for two, will definitely reorder with other products. Initially thought delivery a bit pricey as 5 days+ quoted, even after despatch which worried us a bit, but was very fresh and still chilled.
