Review: Quality! - These have been amazing for my little girl, they’re so easy to wash (cold rinse with a little detergent and then a hot cycle and an extra rinse with a little more) and they fit perfectly! I’m definitely purchasing the next size up when she grows out of these. Wish me luck for when she starts solids 🤪
Review: Cloth Diapering save lots of money - We took the Essembly diapering 101 class and it helped us prepare to cloth diaper our baby before she was born. We ended up buying the recommended number of diapers (24 inners and 7 outters) as well as cloth safe every day ointment (coconut oil), and diaper rash cream (zinc based). We also bought overnight inserts and the tossers. We mostly use our cloth diapers, but we use disposables on the go, or when our daughter gets a stubborn diaper rash that won’t go away. We specifically do disposables for stubborn diaper rashes so we can use heavier creams (like the 40% zinc decitin diaper rash cream) without harming the cotton inners. And while coconut oil works for the most part for helping her with painful constipation, we also use disposables for when she needs aquafer to help with the constipation. The diapers have held up really well. We have zero issues with the heavy duty cotton material or any stitching. We follow the essembly laundering instructions and use the essembly detergent with the agitator balls. We wash them with a normal wash followed by a heavy duty wash and then 1.5 hours times dry. One thing that can be annoying is that the absorbent layers tend to get bunched up. We have to fold them backwards (to the outside) and carefully flatten them to get many of them to sort of lay flat. When going through as many diapers as we do, we often don’t have time to fold, and then we are just trying to get them flat against our babies skin, and sometimes they still end up rumpled if we aren’t careful. I think those rumbles are why she ends up with stubborn rashes, and I’ve tried to tell my husband we need to flatten them, but it’s difficult and neither of us have time to fold diapers every day. Which gets me to my next point. Thank goodness for cloth diapers. My little girl believes in doing lots of little pees and then crying the moment her diaper is dirty (whether it’s disposable or cloth). We go through about 12 inners a day when we are full time cloth, which is a laundry load a day. As long as we properly enclose the inner with the outer we have no leaks. When my husband is going too fast and doesn’t pay attention to the inner sticking out past the out around the legs or on the back, then the inner absorbs liquid and sends it straight to the clothing. We have never had a blowout. As for fit, they worked really well for awhile. My daughter is below average weight with above average height, and thick thighs. Thus, we are finding we have to size up in ever diaper before the hits the max weight because her thighs become to tight. We have pushed these into the groin as much as possible, and yet we still are at the point of struggling to snap them around her thighs. They are a little loose around the waist even though they are so tight around her groin/thigh (the inners have only one row of snaps while the outters have two rows. We have the inners a snap tighter on the top row than on the thigh row.) they are also quite far below her belly button at this point. So, this means our 15.5 pound, 27inch long, almost 7 month old little girl is moving to size 2 inners in the next couple of days even though size 1 was supposed to fit till 17 lbs. (I’m sad to say goodbye to the cute outers we had for size 1, but I also have some new cute outters for size 2, so just like all cute baby clothes, it’s time for out with old, and in either the new). Overall, we love these diapers. I highly recommend them even with the folding up inside the diaper issue and my baby being a weird fit. Baby girl always seems comfortable in them, the cotton material of the inners is good quality. And they are easy to wash. P.S Essembly has new inners on their website that are sort of a mix between these and prefolds. I really want to try them with the next size up and see if those help with the awkward bottom shape.

## Features

- Organic: Esembly’s reusable, GOTS-certified organic cotton Inners are soft, absorbent, and trim fitting.
- No Leaks Or Blow-Outs: Avoid the infamous nappy explosions! Esembly nappies are made of 2 leak-proof parts. The Inner provides the absorbency, and the Esembly Outer (sold separately) layers over the Inner for waterproofing and containment. Together they make a complete, blowout-proof cloth nappy.
- Landfill-Free And Saving: Instead of going through endless packs of disposables (6500+ if we’re talking numbers), with Esembly, you only need 20-24 nappies Inners, and 6 Outers (in each of the 2 sizes) from birth through to potty training. This not only saves the planet from nappy waste but saves you money too!
- Adjustable: The Esembly Cloth Nappy Inners were made to grow with your baby from birth through to potty training. They come in two trim-fitting sizes: Size 1 (7-17lbs) and Size 2 (18-35lbs). The waist poppers allow for adjustments to accommodate expanding bellies, while the rippled core and stretchy leg elastic expand as your baby gets taller.
- Easy To Launder: Afraid of the laundry? Don’t be. Inners are designed by nappy laundering experts! Wash them twice per week following Esembly’s easy and effective 4-step instructions. For best results, launder with specially formulated Esembly Washing Powder (sold separately). Wash Inners after each use, Outers can be used multiple times before laundering.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I use the Inner cloth diaper? Do I need an Outer diaper cover over it?**
A: The Inner fitted diaper is the absorbent part of our 2 part cloth diaper. Snap the Inner on baby then cover with an Outer (sold separately). The Outer provides the waterproofing and containment. The Outer is a necessary part of the diaper.

**Q: Are they bulky? Will I need to size up baby’s clothes?**
A: Esembly cloth diapers come in two trim fitting sizes to take baby from birth-potty training. They are the trimmest fitting natural fibers out there and will fit beautifully under baby’s clothing with no need to size up.

**Q: How do I clean the Inners?**
A: After a decade washing 18,000 cloth diapers a week through our busy NYC diaper service we came up with a simple 4 step wash routine and PATENTED Washing Powder. Follow our instructions and cloth diapering is as easy as 2-3 loads of laundry a week!

**Q: How many Inners do I need?**
A: For full time cloth diapering we recommend having 24 Inners and 6 Outers. For part time diapering you’ll want to have approx 12 Inners and 4 Outers. General rule of thumb is to have 3 Inners for every Outer.

**Q: Do I need to use certain diaper creams?**
A: It's important when cloth diapering to use only "cloth-safe" diaper creams. Cloth Safe means the products will wash out and not cause permanent staining and build up. All Esembly Skincare products are specially formulated for use with cloth diapers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Can't recommend these enough!
*by A***I on 15 January 2026*

These diapers are amazing! I was skeptical about getting cloth for a newborn, but these work way better than my paper diapers. Holds leaks for hours, and my little guy loves them. Helps him sleep better at night. The outers also have super cute designs. They are durable in the washer and dryer, which is amazing.
