But they are fine for site work and softwoods. If you want chisels for hard wood you need to be looking at much more expensive gear. **Q: Is there any real difference between these and the splitproof ones?** A: These are made to be used with a metal hammer e.g. a claw hammer the split proof are only suitable for a wooden mallet both sets are made from the same steel and require the same amount of flattening before sharpening. **Q: Are these blue and yellow like the picture or black and yellow like the customer image??** A: yep blue and yellow make sure you get the 8 set includes 50mm chisel and get a good leather roll that can hold more than 8 chisels like 12 or 16 so there not cramped together wont tell you what i used to pay for this set 20 years ago but bit more you will need to sharpen them if you are a carpenter joiner but good enough for any DIY or professional again get the 8 set not the 6 and the spare 2 don't have space in the box properly. **Q: What type of steel are these?
