Pimoroni Unicorn pHAT for Raspberry Pi

This product comes packaged nicely in a anti-static bag then placed inside a cardboard box. The board itself comes with the header not attached to the board, which means you will need some soldering skills to get it set up, however this is a quick job for anyone with soldering experience, or it makes great practice for those less experienced.I genuinely love this product, I actually ended up buying a second one for another project. They are exceptionally bright, luckily you can adjust this in your code when you use them, but even in bright daylight they are very visible.They are easy to use, and Pimoroni has a selection of tutorials available online to help you get started. They have also compiled an easy to download package that has everything you need, including some pre made examples which show off the potential of this product.Currently I have my pHat connected to my email accounts, that gives a visual notification in different colours depending on which account received the email. Very cool and easy to set up. In the future I hope to connect it up to my twitch chat bot to get feedback for the bots actions visually.Overall what's not to love about this pHAT, the project applications are endless - you won't be disappointed.

Received my Unicorn pHAT today and I couldn't be happier. The instructions and code on GitHub are easy to follow, just take your time with it and don't miss any steps (like I did, and had to go back again). Highly recommended if you were lucky enough to get hold of a PiZero and want to start learning about addressable LEDs. Not sure what i'll use it for, but it looks very pretty!
