Stout gate!
I absolutely love this gate! And let me tell you I researched different gates for a total of 10 hours over a span of a month. We have a dog that was escaping our 30” tall gate, even to the point that he knew how to open it. He could also jar the gate to squeeze out or just press his paws on it to push it over. Now that we have this new gate at 37.5” tall, he doesn’t stand a chance with it. He also doesn’t know how to open it because you have to press a button and also lift. Not only this but the structure of this gate is stout, wow! It’s a very heavy duty metal compared to every other gate I’ve seen. It reminds me of a powder coated steel. They also provide metal reinforcements to cover and support where the extension pieces attach and a plastic piece for the bottom of the gate so it provides more stability and a ramp like effect so you don’t stub your toe entering through the gate. I’m honestly so impressed and I’ve have been telling everyone to buy this gate. We did also get wall nanny’s to go on each side to protect our walls and allow extra stability. The door opening/walk way is also larger than our previous gates which I love! I’ll definitely be buying more of these gates! No need to research further, this gate is the bees knees!

Beautiful
Takes a little practice to remember to lift the gate door up to open after you pull the lever back

Big and stable wall protectors
The wall protectors are good quality and big to fit the wall gate screws . The back rubber provide better grip . Since these are big please check the space you have on stair to place them.

No holes in the wall
I was a little skeptical about how secure this gate would be without mounting it to the wall with screws. It is for the top of a staircase and I didn't want it to to push in easily and cause a fall down the stairs that we were trying to avoid in the first place. The pressure mounting design is very strong though and this gate really does stay tightly in place and keeps things safe. So far, there is no movement at all with dogs or kids around and leaning etc. Before I go to the rest of the good features I will just mention the one caution. I didn't think about the bar across the bottom before ordering this. Because I wanted it for the top of a stairway it does concern me just a little that one of these days someone might trip over the bottom. We are ok with it but I need to emphasize to step over carefully if anyone else is at the house because I don't want them tripping down the stairs! I will say that the kick plate does help some. I have been at other people's homes before with this type of gate but there isn't a kick plate at the bottom and I have seen many people trip over the bottom bar. I do think this plate helps a lot with that.At 37.4" in height (plus the little extra mounting height added), it is a great height to keep everyone safe. The little ones cannot lean over it until they are plenty old enough and tall enough for them to be safe and able to use it on their own anyway. And it is high enough for the dogs to not care enough to try any escapes.I needed something wider than a normal room opening as the staircase is oversized. This is perfect because you can make it about 29'', 34", 39", 39.5", 40", 45" (again, plus the side space). I have the full width so I tried to figure out the measurements for the shorter options but I didn't assemble it that way so I may be a little off.The door is easy to open with one hand - very important. But "tricky" enough for a little one to not quite figure out on their own. That is not to say the smart ones who watch everything and see you opening it over and over won't eventually figure it out! But you cannot fault the gate for being "dummer" than a smart kid.I also do like that you can open it to/past 90° and it will stay open for you. If you are going in and out (or up and down) and you do not want to open and close it every time this comes in very handy. On the other hand, it will swing closed on it's own if you do not open it wide - so that is also nice. You can open it "in" or "out" - pretty typical but still important, especially on a stairway.Very sturdy construction and material. This is strong metal and will not bend or break. Should hold up very well for a long time.

The media could not be loaded. (Note: The white frame in photo is of my old gate. My old gate remains representative of most, if not all, baby gates found on amazon)This gate is different. This gate is a newcomer with very welcomed updates to the traditional design:(1) This is only gate on the market that does not wobble, at all. Metal clamping connectors, which is not included in other gates, essentially "welds" the different parts/extensions of the gate in place. The gate then becomes a rigid whole even prior to applying any pressure. This rigidity not only allows for easy alignment during installation, but it also ensures that there's no off-axis pressure from the walls.(2) The structural members of this gate are bigger/thicker in every dimension than that of the conventional gate. And yet this gate remains light enough for even the elderly to handle.(3) This gate comes with a simplified locking mechanism. While it still requires 2 steps to actually open the gate (unlock+lift), thereby guarding against any accidental release, the mechanism here is much more intuitive for the adult. As a result, it'll be easier to introduce this system to the occasional caretakers and baby-sitters.(4) Other nice touches:* As you can see from my uploads, this gate can stand on its own without the walls, not that anyone would use it this way. However, being able to stand upright by itself does make installation much easier.* The cylindrical bars of this gate are spaced ever closer than that of other gates. This adds to both the structural integrity and barrier effectiveness of the gate. Moreover, these bars have that characteristic springiness, which prevents injury in the event of a collision or a determined attempt to squeeze through.* The seller has been prompt and helpful with user inquiries.* The stated height of 37.4" is accurate. This gate is the tallest on market.[- Installation Tips -]* Clamping connectors: Once clamped, it'll be difficult to remove these by your hands alone. However, it's very easy to remove them if you first hammer the connector in reverse. Then, you can insert a small pry tool into the gap created by the hammering to pop the connector off.* Anti-kick mat/base: Flip the base upside down as shown in photo (i.e., the photo with the blue glove, and while that photo shows only one hand, use two hands). Reach into the grooves to pry the gap on the opposite side apart. One can then clamp the mat/base around the frame with ease.[- Ideas for accessories -](1) Smart contact/door sensors: For alerting adults to an opened baby gate. Some of these sensors include stand-alone alarms and can send notification to your phone.(2) More Extensions: The seller has confirmed that, should people ever need more extension pieces than what's already included, those will be available for purchase in the coming months.(3) Self-closing gate springs: For shutting the gate automatically even in the unlocked configuration. In sum, I've been very happy with this gate. And I hope it receives the exposure it deserves; it ought to have no problem becoming the new best-seller in baby gate.
