This thing is just the trick for potatoes Au Gratin/Scalloped potatoes, thin sliced onions for burgers, banana chips for drying, or anything else of the sort. I must confess that I've never been particularly good with a chef knife, so slicing fruits and vegetables uniformly, and quickly, without dismembering my hand, is akin to a magical experience. Also, OCD sorts will appreciate the uniformity of slice thickness, I bet. It's a snap to clean it as well, due to the small number of parts, and relatively small overall size. Well worth the money.

It’s a mandolin. It works with the container on the bottom was a little bit bigger but other than that nice product.
