Upon reassembly, I used a good quality wood glue on the ends of each of the 5 round dowel posts. I then reassembled, put the chairs on a level surface, made sure they didn't rock around) and tightened all bolts and screws. Also, I wiped off any excess wood glue before it dried. After 24 hours, I did a finish sanding with 220 grit sandpaper, and wiped the surface with a tack cloth. Finally, I applied the final finish coat of verathane (or use whichever sealer you prefer) to the assembled chair. These chairs certainly look very professional, and they all match perfectly! I easily painted these a medium gray color and then tied ribbon through the XX design. It's an excellent addition to my apartment. Fairly easy to assembly, took me about 45 minutes per chair.
