What happens is it gives a thick texture, but blunts the flavor of the sauce. At least, that's my experience.So I was pretty thrilled to see this chocolate/blood orange protein powder.There is chocolate.There is chocolate orange.andThere is chocolate raspberry.Three of my favorites.So here's what I did:I had just found a "no sugar" (lactose and whatever other) sugar removed whole milk (yay, finally real milk without the carbs instead of almond or coconut (etc) "milks").8 ounces of the new whole milk, one scoop of this into the blender, then into a tupperware cup in a cold bag.I was on my way to do a lap swim workout and errands after that, so the plan was to have this in between the swim and the errands.Not what happened.When I opened the tupperware, what stared me in the face was a thick, gelatinous mass, not resembling what I thought I would be drinking.I took it home, tasted it and yes, there's a faint taste of orange and a faint taste of chocolate.Neither strong enough for my palate.
