My 4+ yr kid learned to read with the "Key Words" series of books published by Ladybird. The systematic approach is very good and the pictorial presentation along with the reading really help the kid to learn and understand rather memorize it. I feel so great when my kid read small sentences from the newspaper and major credit goes to "Ladybird" for this GREAT reading material for kids. I am now buying complete set.
