Review: Great Read! - 📘 Review: The Everything Store by Brad Stone ⭐ Rating: 4.5 / 5 If you’re even slightly curious about how a scrappy online bookstore turned into one of the most powerful companies on the planet, this book is wildly worth your time. 🚀 What the Book Is About This is the inside story of desertcart’s rise — from a garage startup to a company that reshaped shopping, tech, logistics, publishing, and even how we think about customers. It’s not written like a boring corporate biography. It reads like a high-stakes drama full of big bets, brutal decisions, and relentless ambition. At the center of it all is Jeff Bezos — portrayed not as a simple hero or villain, but as a hyper-intense, long-term-obsessed leader who was willing to be misunderstood for years to win decades later 💡 What Makes It So Good 1️⃣ The “Customer Obsession” Mindset You really see how desertcart’s famous principles weren’t just posters on a wall. The idea that customers come first — even before profits drove decisions that looked crazy at the time but genius later. 2️⃣ The Ruthless Side of Innovation The book doesn’t sugarcoat things. desertcart’s culture comes across as: • extremely demanding • data-obsessed • emotionally tough • not for everyone It shows the human cost behind building a giant. 3️⃣ Long-Term Thinking on Another Level Quarterly losses didn’t scare Bezos. He played a 10–20 year game while competitors played 2–3 year games. That mindset shift alone is worth the read if you’re into business or leadership. 4️⃣ Fascinating Business Battles The fights with: • publishers • Walmart & big retailers • early investors • internal leaders feel like strategic chess matches 🧠 Who Should Read This? You’ll love this book if you are into: • Startups & entrepreneurship • Business strategy • Leadership psychology • Tech industry history • Understanding how big companies really work behind the scenes It’s especially eye-opening if you work in e-commerce or corporate environments — you’ll start recognizing desertcart-style thinking everywhere ⚖️ Any Downsides? • It leans heavily toward the business side, not personal life details • Some sections get dense with operational details • You may finish it both impressed and slightly intimidated 🎯 Final Take The Everything Store isn’t just a company story. It’s about vision, obsession, patience, and the cost of building something massive. You come away realizing: desertcart didn’t happen by accident. It was engineered — deliberately, aggressively, and over decades. If you like books that make you think differently about success and scale, this one sticks with you long after you finish.
Review: Absorbing book on desertcart & Bezoes. - Apart from being very successful, desertcart has realised the dreams of customers to order & have delivered the objects of their choice within a few days. This book gives the history of desertcart & Bezoes admirably.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flow with the Amazon in this book!
*by V***D on 15 October 2018*

Finally, I completed reading this book and I must say that the author has followed the Amazon journey very deeply. I cannot say that the book was entirely focused upon Jeff Bezos and the Amazon company, but it gives you insights about the important changes that took places in the dot com era. It clearly shows the effects of ignoring innovation. Amazon fought really hard during the tough years of depression and you can thank to Jeff's long sight vision for this accomplishment. From Amazon, we can understand the importance of caring about your customers in true sense. Throughout Amazon's journey, they are having single motto of giving the best prices and experience to their customers. And, in order to achieve this, they can fight the world. One of the important lesson that I learnt was that you create your own destiny. Jeff's biological father was not successful in life but on the other hand Jeff has excelled amazingly in his field. So, we should never blame our genes or the family for what we are. Amazon started right from the Garage with 3-4 people and rose to multi billion business. A lot can be learnt from Jeff's personality too. He is able to balance his personal and professional life perfectly. And, in his life, his mother and wife has been supportive, always. Vocab is used nicely through the book and I was able to learn a lot of new words for sure. This is a true masterpiece for all. thanks!
