It leaves a sticky material. Has anyone else have this happe?** A: yes it does leave a sticky feeling but it is a gel and will keep the eyes moist due to dry eye. Your eyes in the long run will feel better **Q: Are there preservatives in this?** A: Yes, there are preservatives in this. Polyquad is a brand name preservative for Polyquaternium-1. Polyquad is a derivative of BAK and is considered a detergent preservative. **Q: Can you put in refrigerator** A: I have not put the, in a refrigerator, the label gives a temp. They aren’t to be kept in a hot place. **Q: Why they stop making the gel, idont like the drops. The gel work so good. Couldn't find it in stores anywhere** A: I feel the same way! The drops are great but sometimes I need something more, i.e. the gel drops they use to sell. The gel drops were discontinued after Alcon bought the company that owned GenTeal. Good news--I recently found the gel drops labeled GenTeal "Severe Day & Night" Gel Drops. I ordered right here on Amazon. I have scaring on one of my eyes and by the end of the day it starts to become irritated, so when I am headed to bed I use this and by most mornings the irritation is gone. I do use it sometimes during the day if I have been somewhere where it is dusty or pollen irritants. I wear contacts and I often scratch my eye, usually from rubbing them. When I do then I have to take my contacts out and then they scratched eye is red and swollen and very painful. These drops are the only thing I know of that helps. I put a few drops in the injured eye, open and close a few times and go to sleep.
