Great
I have been looking for these books for ages and am so pleased to be able to buy them through Amazon. If you love good honest home cooking recipes then look no further. No weird and wonderful ingredients that send you on a mad hunt through the Supermarkets on a Saturday afternoon. Well known classics as well some interesting variations and new ideas. Obviously the presentation is dated given the age of this publication but for me the nostalgia of the recipes makes it well worth a place in my recipe book collection. I purchased a book which was listed as "Used - Very Good" from Electric Chicken and they were true to their word - very minimal signs of age i.e. slight yellowing on the edges of the pages but other than that it was more like new than used. Very happy and I have gone on to purchase additional titles from the seller.

Excellent Cookery book
St Michael Cookery library books are from the 1970s / 1980s. They had an excellent reputation. My mum had one and always used it.This casserole cooking book contains an excellent set of casserole dishes (the most I have seen in any casserole or one pot cookery book)What is very good is that you get photos of completed dishes for most of the dishes. This gives a good idea of plates/pots to serve them in.Despite the age the ingredients required are listed in metric and imperial measurements. An excellent book given the price

One of the most useful cookery books ever written!
I lost my copy of this classic in a house-move, so was very happy to find a replacement here on Amazon! It's an incredibly useful cookery book and the recipes can be easily adapted to slow-cooker casseroles, making it incredibly versatile. It isn't possible to source a new pristine copy any longer, but market-place seller World of Books supplied me with the next best thing: a 'very good' copy which I'd rate 'near perfect'. An excellent buy - all the more charming for the now 30 year-old photos. The recipes themselves are all classics which will never date; indeed at a time when we're all having to think about energy-efficiency, it could be argued that one-pot cooking has never been more relevant!

Easy to follow, ingredients not too complicated or difficult to find.
I bought this book for my 93 year old uncle. He still cooks for himself and likes to put everything in one pot and make it last for a couple of days. This book gives him ideas for different casseroles without being too complicated or with too many ingredients. As it is a Christmas present I can't yet report how he found it but I looked through and it looks perfect for him with many recipes I'd like to try myself.
