Exactly as advertised! Very pleased!
October 2018 Update: I just took my Drive Medical Scout on a cruise! Once we drove to the port there were no problems whatsoever with getting it out of our car and onto the shuttle at the remote parking lot. Nothing more than the seat and basket had to be removed before folding down the tiller (steering wheel) and sliding it into the shuttle luggage area. After the shuttle reached the cruise terminal reattaching these two parts literally took less than 15 seconds. Driving the scooter through the lines and checkpoints inside the terminal was a breeze. Easiest and least painful cruise embarkation for me ever! I never had to get off the scooter, even while going through security. My Scout handled the steep ramps leading into the ship with ease. From then on I was free to go pretty much wherever I wanted for the entire cruise. Entering and exiting elevators several times per day was surprisingly simple and making turns in the ship’s tight corridors was never a problem. The scooter fit into our regular size stateroom out of the way at the foot of one of the twin beds, where I plugged it in to charge the battery every night. Parking it inside the ship’s dining areas was pretty easy, too, and if I wanted I could have simply stayed on the scooter to eat at a table by swiveling the seat. The Scout is sturdy, powerful and much lighter in weight than bigger scooters my husband & I saw other passengers sometimes struggling with. We also saw a couple of smaller tricycle style mobility devices but they didn’t appear to be as comfortable as my Scout and didn’t have baskets for carrying things, either. My Scout’s basket helped me to be prepared for anything, always carrying daily cruise schedules and some combination of hats, sunglasses, small umbrellas or a large rain poncho, bottles of water, sunscreen, my camera, small games, a book and more. And I got to go ashore in ports I had previously skipped due to the walking distances involved, the only caveat being that some ports of call are still not “wheels friendly,” so be sure to do your homework on that before booking any trip you intend to visit with a mobility device.Overall, I was completely happy with the performance of my new Drive Medical Scout and I will definitely bring it along on future trips to give me the freedom to go where I want without pain. I am greatly relieved that I made the right choice in buying this particular scooter and at this point in time I cannot recommend it highly enough. 😎************************ Having just returned home from a cruise last week on one of the biggest cruise ships in the world (Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas,) I immediately set about doing more research on the two top rental scooters I saw on that huge ship. Because I have a walking disability, it was difficult to get around but easy for me (and my cane) to approach other disabled guests and ask what they liked and didn't like about the scooters they were riding. Most of the guests were very receptive and honest about their experiences. After all, they had no need to defend a mobility device most of them were only renting. But since my husband cruise 5-6 times a year, I wanted to buy, not rent. Long story made shorter, the Drive Medical Scout 3 wheeler came out on top in my unscientific survey. The main rental companies at the Florida ports buy this and a similarly designed model produced by another company. According to online reviews, the Drive Medical Scout is relatively inexpensive, quite durable, performs well and the 3 wheel version is ideal for turning corners in tight indoor places like cruise ships. Given some of the negative feedback I got on other brands of mobility scooters, I was probably sold on this model before my poor little aching feet left the ship.I admit I was hesitant to order such an item from a company (VidaCura) that I had never heard of and whose listing on Amazon had no reviews. Further research on other sites, however, were more reassuring, giving positive reviews from what appeared to be real customers. It also helped to go to VidaCura's own website to learn more about their philosophy and record of service. Most importantly, I learned more details about the 5 year warranty plan that they include with their mobility scooters. Because the price at the time I ordered was identical to the same model being promoted by Amazon, having an extended warranty thrown in for free was a real draw for me.I got home from my cruise on Sunday and after checking with every retailer in my area and other websites, unsuccessfully trying to find an actual store model Scout that I could try out for myself, I finally decided to go ahead and order the Drive Medical Scout from VidaCura through the Amazon website on Wednesday. My finger was definitely trembling about this leap of faith as I pushed the Place Your Order button. On Thursday (yesterday) I received an email from VidaCura, basically telling me what to expect and offering to let me back out of my order if I wasn't sure. I went ahead and said yes and after that they started the shipping process, listing an expected arrival date of 7-12 days, which is the standard free shipping that VidaCura provides. Quite surprisingly, my scooter arrived today on Friday, the very next day after shipping and less than 3 days since I pressed that Place Your Order button. It apparently really helps to live in the same state (Florida) as the VidaCura store! The FedEx truck rumbled up to our house late this afternoon and the delivery guy was kind enough to set the heavy box inside our garage where my husband and I figured would be a good place to assemble it. The box was very sturdy and the scooter parts inside were well packed. But we needn't have bothered with the garage. Assembly of my new Scout took less than ten minutes and in not much more space than the box itself. Not only was the scooter already partially assembled, the instructions for adding the last few parts were well written and easy to follow. To our even greater surprise and delight, the battery on my new Drive Medical Scout arrived fully charged and ready to go. I couldn't believe I could drive the scooter literally right out of the box, but I did. Success!Because I just received my Scout, I have no idea as yet how well it will perform or hold up in the coming months and, I hope, years. VidaCura's warranty that arrived with it is very reassuring. So far I have been driving the Scout around the inside of our house with no problems whatsoever, beeping my little horn at my husband every time I pass him by as I practice making turns around sharp corners, backing up and parking. The scooter can be steered with minimal effort using either hand. Several components of the Scout, such as the seat, arm rests and steering wheel angle are adjustable to suit the user's comfort. The seat position can be swiveled from side to side for easy egress or if I just want to sit at a table without leaving the scooter. I can flip up one of the arm rests and get out of the seat easily that way, too. The floor platform is even long enough for my husband's size 14 feet, which may come in handy should he ever need to use the scooter himself in the future. (We're senior citizens, so you never know.) And the 300 pound weight limit will easily accommodate either of us unless we go a little too wild at the buffets on these cruise ships.Best of all, I can now face future travels without worrying about arranging and waiting for wheelchair assistance or walking too far every day, causing me pain. If I had known I could have pain free mobility back this easily, I would have bought one of these scooters years ago. The fact that the Scout can be quickly disassembled and assembled will come in handy, as well. The driver of the shuttle for the parking lot we use for our car while we're cruising told me that as long as a scooter comes apart like that they have no problem shuttling it to the cruise terminals just like any other luggage. Airlines can handle these travel scooters, too, though you'd be wise to contact the airline you'll be using to get details on that. All in all, I believe I've made a very good purchase. And the only reason I'm writing this review so soon after receiving my scooter is because I want to assure others who may be contemplating buying a Drive Medical Scout through VidaCura. I've already received my proof that this is a reputable company that does what it says it will and if that situation ever changes for me in the future I will definitely let you know. As you can tell from reading all of this, it's pretty hard to shut me up.Update: since writing this review my husband and I did a "test run" of packing our little Prius with our usual cruise luggage and my new Scout mobility scooter. (See photo attached.) All we had to do was lift off the seat and fold down the tiller (steering column) before lifting the scooter to slide it into the back of the car. We were surprised to find that even with our luggage we had room to spare! The back seat of our car folds down to make a relatively flat surface. If we had a car that only had a trunk, though, it's likely we could have done a bit more dissassembly and fit the pieces in alongside our luggage. As you can see in the photo, the widest part of the Scout is actually narrower than our main suitcases!

Love this scooter. First love drive medical great company anyway I was looking for one with a high weight capacity cause I'm 273 and found this. It's very comfortable, love u adjust the width of the arms so I'm squzed in there, rides fairly good. The one thing I don't like is when u break it breaks hard but it's ok I'm a big gut I ant moving. Very easy to assemble and disassemble fits in the back of my buick encore nicely. Would highly recommend if u need this. Also battery is great too.

Wonderful scooter
Pros: This is the fifth scooter I have owned, and it is my favorite. I like the added length which gives additional leg room, without adding much to the overall weight of the scooter (my husband says it is about the same effort to lift it compared to my last Drive Medical scooter which was shorter). It is easy to maneuver through my house, and has a nice fast speed when I am using it outside. I also like that it does not beep when backing. Very good support from VidaCura. I has a question and received a rapid email answer from Vida Cura.Cons: It is a little more difficult to plug in the charger since the plug is in front of the battery (down by the feet) than my previous scooters that plugged the charger in by the throttle controls on the steering. I don't like that it starts beeping when the battery needs charging. It seems to start beeping as soon as the charge moves from the green to the yellow. I don't know how much power I have left since it starts beeping as soon as the second green light fades. My previous scooters had power indicators that slowly decreased one light at a time, instead of the sudden drop this has.

Nice lightweight scooter.
This scooter met my expectations. It is smaller & lighter than many others, making dis-assembling and placing it in our vehicle easier, and because it has three wheels instead of four, it has a shorter turn-a-round space, which will work well for indoor use. The big plus is the 5-year warranty by the seller, Living Well Stores/VidaCura.

Mom loves it!!
My mom loves it! works perfect for her. battery lasts long, nice basket, easy controls, adjustable handle, comfortable seat. Only issue we are having is you can't lock the speed to a certain setting, my mom turns it up to far and goes way to fast and has tipped over a couple times while turning, Thank God she didn't get hurt! I might try to tape the dial and see if that helps. Otherwise the scooter is perfect!!! Love the extra warranty the company offers, gives reassurance if something needs fixing or replacing!
