Q: is this made with bone char?

Many brands of white sugar are processed using bone char in the refining process. It is removed from the final product, but it is part of producing it, so that is the concern here. I haven't found an answer for this product, so there's a good chance it either is made with that process, or the answer isn't definitively known to the producers. Many brands will not give you an answer because they don't know or because it does use bone char.

Q: Rougly how many sugar cubes are in the 8.8 oz container?

I just did a quick count and i have 43 cubes left. I used a total of 5 prior to the count. So I will say roughly 50.

Q: In france, real beghin say sugar lumps are huge. these look slightly larger than domino dots. is that right?

if you mean like the domino logo then no, the cubes are about the size of a D6.
