Its very disheartening that, after 3 months, absolutely no one can tell you what this material actually is **Q: can i use this on mattress to protect from dust mites?** A: I don't think that would work, I would get a plastic cover for the mattress. **Q: We have older round ceiling vents. Going to cut to size but are these supposed to go on outside of vent or the inside? Does it matter?** A: Typically you want your filters to be in line right before your furnace/blower. That way all the junk being sucked in through the return duct in your house doesn't collect inside your furnace or duct system, I'll usually use filters over the vents as a secondary if I think a location really needs it or the customer requests it.
