Anyone have an idea on how to disable it?** A: Yes, the same thing happened to me with my 30A Victron dc-dc on my 2021 Ford Transit starter battery. The answer is to use the 18A victory dc-dc charger. I learned this the hard way. Some cars can't handle that draw. **Q: Would it harm this victron 12-12-18 if I mounted it in a pickup truck engine compartment, connectors at the bottom and air space around it?** A: For good cooling effect, the Oion is designed for vertical mounting only. Other mounting methods may impair cooling and reduce the service life of the product. **Q: Can I connect the input and output ground together?** A: Yes if not trying to isolate like in a boat for galvanic corrosion. If you don't need the isolation feature just purchase the non-isolated model and save a few dollars. If you already own the isolated model and installing in a RV you can ground both to same ground connection. **Q: I'm looking to find a dc-dc charging solution that also accepts solar input. i'd rather have victron vs redarc or ctek?** A: I use two separate devices. Solar is in series so the input ranges up to 100 volts. It’s nice seeing both via Bluetooth. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ chargeur dc-dc, jacques gauvin *by on Reviewed in Canada 29 September 2026* je suis très satisfait, j'ai ajusté le voltage de sorti pour voir l'ampérage de charge max, ma lecture à monté à 19.23 amp, ok j'ai réajusté le voltage de sortie à 12.8 volts pour une batterie lifepo4 , je vais passé l'été prochain , et remettre mes commentaires sur ce chargeur dc-dcne pas oublier de réajuster le voltage de sorti sur ton cell , pour être satisfait du produit ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excelente, la calidad es su fuerte *by on Reviewed in Spain 13 August 2026* Divino de la muerte, es una tecnología y calidad que te asegura una buena instalación con un buen rendimientoLo excelente hay que pagarlo y no vale dudadarlo ## Frequently Bought Together - Victron Energy Orion-Tr Smart DC to DC Charger (Bluetooth) - 12/12-Volt 18 amp 220-Watt - Battery Charger for Dual Battery Systems - Isolated - Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Solar Charge Controller (Bluetooth) - Charge Controllers for Solar Panels - 100V, 30 amp, 12/24-Volt - Victron Energy SmartShunt Battery Monitor (Bluetooth) - Victron Smart Shunt - 6.5V-70V, 500 amp --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ro/products/733554743-victron-energy-orion-tr-smart-insulated-dc-dc-charger-12](https://www.desertcart.ro/products/733554743-victron-energy-orion-tr-smart-insulated-dc-dc-charger-12) --- *Product available on Desertcart Romania* *Store origin: RO* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
