I am a very handy weekend warrior and I found the added width/area for this sanding head to have two benefits 1.) it obviously kept me on a broader flatter plane than a more standard narrower sander (avoiding rutts) & 2.) it was much easier for me to articulate milding rotating the head of the sander creating the circular motion that some of my contractor friends recommended. Again lessening the chance for rutts and over sanding in one spot. As mentioned by others, the coupling for the pole was useless. My solution was to buy a breakdown pole with multiple section. In the first section I "reversed" the pole end, flooded the female end of the pole with two part epoxy, and set in the male end of this sander. The first section is now permanant and I add sections if needed. It worked perfectly for me. Review: Saw this mentioned on youtube and I gave it a try. Perfect tool for sanding down the final skim coat. Worked perfectly for my skim coat job.
