We did go to the local hardware store and bought 2 pieces of 12 ft by 12 ft indoor outdoor carpet to put under the pool for insulation and general cushioning. It works really well so far! We spent about $60 for the carpet, but we felt it was worth it. **Q: Will grass grow through it?** A: It may ruin your grass but it will definitely not grow through it. :) **Q: Is this easy to cut to use for 12 foot? My yard is too small or we would have purchased 15 foot pool.** A: It is very thin and I don't feel that it adds any protection to the bottom of the pool. It would be easy to cut because it is very thin and it would probably fray. It might cost twice as much, but will be larger and far thicker and stronger. For less than twice the price, of this one, I got a 16x20 tarp which was very heavy, and treated for sun exposure. Please do not waste your money on this one. It is more suitable to make a kite out of, it is paper thin.
